llms.txt checker: what AI agents find in yours

Paste your website. We read its llms.txt the way a customer's AI assistant would: whether it's there, whether it reads, and the doors for agents it leads to. Then the full check shows what an assistant can do with your business.

Free, no sign-up, no email. A check usually takes seconds.

What we read, and what is public

We obey robots.txt (how our crawler reads), then read your pages and the files you publish for machines; we never fill in forms, log in, book or order.

A result is public to anyone with its link. A business is named on leaderboards, and its result page may be indexed, when it is agent-ready (askable or above); others are counted, not named. If your site tells AI systems not to use or train on its content, we don't name you or list you publicly. The owner can correct or hide a result.

What llms.txt is

A plain text or Markdown file a website publishes, usually at /llms.txt, that tells AI systems what the site is and where to find things. It is a proposal (llmstxt.org), not a standard: some AI tools read it, and having one is no guarantee that an assistant will.

What we read from it

  • Whether it's there: at /llms.txt, or wherever your AI catalog points.
  • Whether it reads as one: served as plain text or Markdown, beginning with a # heading.
  • The doors for agents we found through it (an MCP server, an API, an agent card, a checkout profile, a basket link), and the ones it names that we couldn't use.
How we read the doors it names

Each is read without changing anything, within the same limits as the rest of the check: on your own site and its subdomains, up to ten of them. We never call a tool, open a basket link or place an order, and one on another site is noted, not read. We don't grade the file's writing.

What it does, and doesn't

On its own, an llms.txt opens no door to ask, book or order, so it earns no points in the agentic score; the doors it names count when an agent can use them. Your result opens on what we found in your llms.txt, with the full check around it: what an assistant can do with your business, what's missing and where to start.

Questions

Do I need an llms.txt file?

No. It can help an assistant read about your business, and we follow the doors it names. On its own it opens no door to ask, book or order, so it earns no points. See what llms.txt does, and doesn't.

Do AI assistants read llms.txt?

Some AI tools do. It is a proposal, not a standard every assistant follows, so having one is no guarantee that an assistant will read it, or act on it.

What should my llms.txt say for agents?

A heading with your business's name, a line on what you do, and a line for each door an agent can use, with its address, such as "MCP server: https://…". More in make your agent doors findable.

Is it free? Who sees the result?

Yes: no sign-up, no email. A result is public to anyone with its link. A business is named, and may appear in search, once it is agent-ready, never when its site asks AI systems to keep away.
