An order made of kept promises

The directory puts businesses in order by what they did, never by what they paid. Inboxes check in, both sides sign what was promised, and the rules that read it are public.

How it works

  1. Inboxes check in

Each inbox on the network checks in every hour with a ping it signs. An inbox that checked in within the last day, with its manifest reachable, is answering, and answering businesses come before the rest.

  2. Both sides sign the promise

When a business confirms a booking, accepts an order or owes a refund, its inbox signs a receipt, and the customer's agent can counter-sign it. When the promise closes, kept, late or broken, another receipt says so. A customer is named by a code nobody can trace back to them.

  3. The order reads the record

Among answering businesses, a record of kept promises sets the order once it reaches 0.40; the less evidence, the more cautious the record. Everyone else takes turns in a shuffle that changes once a day and that anyone can reproduce.

  4. Nobody can pay for a place

Not now, and not later. A free self-hosted inbox ranks the same as ours, and every rule is published, with a version number, before it counts.

The rules

Version 6 (0.1.3), in force since 29 Sep 2026.

Version 7 is announced, and takes effect on 23 Oct 2026.

Listed businesses get 15 days' notice of a change. Agents read the rules at /v1/ranking, any earlier version at /v1/ranking?version=N, and people in words on how the network works.

Today

  • Live Ordered by kept promises under published, versioned rules; nobody can pay to rank
  • Live Signed hourly pings: an inbox that checks in is answering
  • Live Receipts: a business's inbox signs every booking, order or refund, and the customer's AI can sign it too
  • Being built A track record on each listing (promises kept, late or broken), once enough receipts come in

Track records fill in as receipts arrive: the more bookings and orders close, the more each listing shows.
