Free llms.txt generator
llms.txt generator: make yours from your website
Paste your website. We read it the way a customer's AI assistant would and write an llms.txt you can edit, check and upload.
Free, no sign-up, no email. We read your whole site before we write the file, which usually takes under a minute.
How it's made
From what your website already says: your name and summary, opening hours, where you work, languages, ways to pay, your booking link, your policies, and the doors for AI agents we found answering. No AI writes it, and nothing is made up.
Where to put it
At the root of your site, so it opens at yoursite.com/llms.txt. Each platform has its own way:
- WordPress: Yoast or AIOSEO can serve one for you. To use this file instead, turn theirs off and upload llms.txt to your site's main folder (the one with wp-config.php).
- Wix: in your dashboard, SEO & GEO › Tools and settings › llms.txt › More actions › Edit file, then paste it in. Editing it stops Wix's automatic updates.
- Shopify: your store already serves one. To use this file, open Online Store › Themes › … › Edit code, add a template named llms.txt.liquid and paste it in.
- Squarespace (version 7.1): SEO/AI Visibility › SEO Settings › LLMS.txt, paste it into the box and save. There's no file to upload.
- Your own server: upload a file named llms.txt to the main folder, so it opens at yoursite.com/llms.txt.
Before you upload it
Read it and change anything you like. Then check it with the validator in one click. Add what we didn't find, such as your hours or a page that lists your prices.
Questions
What is an llms.txt file?
A short Markdown file at yoursite.com/llms.txt: your business's name, a one-line summary and links to the pages an AI should read. It's a proposal (llmstxt.org), not a standard every AI follows.
Where do I put the file?
At the root of your site, so it opens at yoursite.com/llms.txt. Wix, Yoast and AIOSEO make one, Shopify stores serve one, and Squarespace has an llms.txt box in its SEO settings: keep theirs, or replace it with yours.
Does Google use llms.txt?
Not for Search: Google's guide to its AI features (updated July 2026) says Search doesn't use it. Some AI tools and agents read it, and Chrome's Lighthouse checks it.
Is it free? Does an AI write it?
Free, no sign-up. Nothing is made up: every line comes from your own pages and markup. Read it before you upload it, and change anything you like.
How often should I update it?
When your hours, services, prices or booking link change. Run the checker after each change.
