What llms.txt is
A short Markdown file at yoursite.com/llms.txt: your name, a one-line summary, and links to the pages an AI should read. It's a proposal (llmstxt.org), not a rule every AI follows.
What we check
That the address answers with a text file, not a web page. Then each line against the format: a # title at the top, a > summary, sections under ##, and links written as [name](https://…). Then whether each link on your site answers.
What it does, and doesn't
It helps an assistant read about you. Google Search doesn't use it, and on its own it opens no door to ask, book or order: the doors it names do that. We never call a door it names, open a basket or place an order.

What does the validator check?
That the file opens at /llms.txt as text, starts with a # heading, links pages as [name](url), and that each link on your site answers. Each problem shows its line and the fix.
Why does it say my links don't count?
A bare address isn't a link in llms.txt. Write - [Menu](https://yoursite.com/menu): what it holds. Chrome's Lighthouse also fails a file with no Markdown link.
Do I need an llms.txt file?
No. It can help an assistant read about your business, and we follow the doors it names. On its own it opens no door to ask, book or order.
Do AI assistants read llms.txt?
Some AI tools do. Google says its Search doesn't. It's a proposal, not a standard, so having one is no guarantee an assistant reads it.
Is it free? Who sees the result?
Yes: no sign-up, no email. A result is public to anyone with its link. A business is named once it is agent-ready, never when its site asks AI systems to keep away.
