Your business in Grok and Grok Bot

Grok takes custom connectors on grok.com, and Grok Bot, xAI's agent that works on a cloud computer, takes MCP servers as plugins. Either can talk to your inbox: as a customer's assistant booking with you, or as your own AI running it.

  • A customer's Grok and Grok Bot books with you

    Your inbox's public MCP server, at /mcp, lets any assistant see your services and free times, book, ask for a quote, order, and answer what you propose. No sign-in. Each request lands as a booking, quote request, order or message, and your rules answer it.

  • Your own Grok and Grok Bot runs your inbox

    The owner MCP server, at /mcp/owner, shows what needs a person, tells an item's whole story, replies to customers, moves items on and edits your services and hours. Grok and Grok Bot sign in with OAuth, which your inbox runs itself (the owner MCP registers Grok on its own), or with an API key sent in a header: give Grok the header Authorization and the value Bearer sdi_own_… .

Add it in Grok and Grok Bot

  1. In Grok: go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, and paste the server's address.
  2. In Grok Bot: tell it “Add a custom MCP server called My shop at https://inbox.yourdomain.com/mcp/owner” (or /mcp for the customer's side), then complete the sign-in on the card it shows.
  3. Grok Bot's plugins are account-wide: one connection serves every bot you make.

Plans. Custom connectors on grok.com are on xAI's paid plans. Grok Bot is in early beta.

Checked 30 September 2026 against xAI: Grok Bot documentation. Your inbox speaks every MCP revision from March 2025 to the current one (2026-07-28), so older and newer clients both connect.

Being found

A customer's assistant has to know where you are. Put your inbox's address on your website and in your profiles, and join the Surfing Dog network: a directory assistants search through their own MCP connector, https://network.surfingdog.ai/mcp, which answers with verified businesses near a place or by what they do.

People with no assistant get your page at the same address: book a time, ask for a quote, send a message.
